Sakai Hits Two Dingers, Rockies Win, 9-5
|
With catcher Kosuke Sakai leading the charge, the Colorado Rockies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-5, at Colorado Field. Sakai, who finished 4th in the AL in RBI with 124 in 2089, went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Chris Colbert picked up the win in relief for Colorado, while Albert Preciado took the loss. Danny Dudley converted his 3rd save in 6 tries.
Mike Keatts, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2094, aided the Colorado cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with a triple.
"We take it day by day here," said Keatts, "and today was a good one for us."
