Steinhart Excels in 9-2 Toronto Win
The Toronto Blue Jays pinned a convincing loss on the Boston Red Sox, 9-2, at Rogers Centre. Dave Steinhart was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Toronto. The second-place Blue Jays sport a record of 79-73.

The Red Sox had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Blue Jays going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 2104 Javier Serrato Player of the Year Award winner Eric Starnes came to the plate. Starnes hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 cutter from Boston hurler Robbie Castro. It was Starnes's 16th home run of the year.

"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Michael Meagher.
