Arizona Beats San Francisco, 4-0
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks topped the San Francisco Giants, 4-0, at AT&T Park. Arizona center fielder Josh Miller was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bubba Schmitz was the winner. He's now 7-19. The loser was Nigel Joseph. Mark Kerr picked up his 19th save of the season.
In the top of the second, with the game still scoreless, Miller hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Miller. "Wins have been hard to come by."
Yes, it was a win for Arizona; but their 41-110 record is still nothing to boast about.
