With 7-2 Win, Reds Go to 102-51
|
Cincinnati took on Kansas City in front of a lively crowd.
Despite a fine performance by shortstop Danny Bonilla, the Kansas City Royals lost to the Cincinnati Reds, 7-2. Bonilla was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Today's win puts Cincinnati at 102-51, while Kansas City falls to 71-82.
Cincinnati used the bat of Steve Carbone to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Reds ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I thought we played a nice game," Carbone told the Cincinnati Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
