Right-hander Scott Bowling mesmerized the Cincinnati Reds while leading the Kansas City Royals to a 4-0 victory. Theron Koulpasis closed it out for Kansas City, earning his 8th save. The Royals now have a record of 70-83.

Kansas City right fielder Andy Morgan contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 126th hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 2-0.

Bowling told a Kansas City Observer reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
