The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Globe Life Park in Arlington, topping the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2. On the mound for Texas was right-hander Pat Yarnall. He played a principal role in the triumph. Mike Poole finished to wrap up his 18th save. The 4th-place Rangers lifted their record to 74-79.

Texas took a 3-2 lead on Scott Pabian's 22nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Pabian hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Toronto pitcher Eric Burnham visibly frustrated.

After the game, Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
