New York used a well-timed hit by Jeff Benhart to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"Bob -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Yankees manager Mike Hanson. "He was the key to us winning."
