The San Francisco Giants got a hard-earned win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-6, in 15 innings. Jose Castillo provided some offensive muscle for San Francisco. He was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The 4th-place Giants have won 4 straight.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Mark Goree to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Giants on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Castillo told the San Francisco Citizen.
