St. Louis Absorbs 5-4 Loss to San Francisco
|
Matt Milone was a major factor in the 5-4 San Francisco win over St. Louis. The Giants third baseman was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ben Bower, who is tied for 8th in the NL in wins with 14, was the winner. He's now 14-11. The loser was Bill McEnerney. With the victory, the Giants record stands at 68-86.
San Francisco used a well-timed hit by Brian Main to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Giants ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Milone told the San Francisco Citizen.
