Gibb Heroics Not Enough in 9-7 Loss to Washington
The Washington Nationals withstood a fine game by Houston right fielder Travis Gibb at Minute Maid Park, to upend the Astros, 9-7. Gibb went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Dallas Cart recorded the save for Washington, his 34th of the season. Washington has run its win streak to 5 straight.

Washington needed the clutch hitting of Brian O'Farrell to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nationals on top, 8-5. For the game, O'Farrell had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said O'Farrell.
