Braves Deal Pirates 5-3 Loss
|
The Atlanta Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-3, at PNC Park. Atlanta first baseman Francisco Galdamez led the way. He was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pete Fordyce snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 7-5 on the season. The loss makes Pittsburgh 92-62.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Oscar Cabanas to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Braves on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Galdamez.
