Philadelphia Loses, 3-2, in 13
|
PNC Park was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Pirates grabbed a win, 3-2, at PNC Park, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Ryan Wright. Wright went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Pittsburgh reliever Tyler Chargois picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Roger (Eben) Penn took the loss.
The Pirates got a clutch hit from center fielder Brendan Keyes. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Pirates.
Keyes told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
At 71-83, the Pirates are currently last in the National League East Division.
