Cardinals Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The St. Louis Cardinals grabbed a win, 5-0, over the Washington Nationals at Busch Stadium. St. Louis third baseman Brian Schoenberg was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The second-place Cardinals have won 6 straight.
With St. Louis leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Schoenberg hit a cutter from Jesus Duran for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said St. Louis manager Leyland Thomas.
