The Boston Red Sox faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Andres Sauri, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Rogers Centre by a final score of 7-4 in 10 innings. Sauri went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Edgar Rivera, who is tied for 10th in the AL in holds with 13, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-6. Boston is now 71-85.

Sean Connell came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Connell.
