The Houston Astros spoiled a good performance by Seattle first baseman Jose Infante, bumping off Seattle, 8-7, at Minute Maid Park. Infante was 3-5 with 2 home runs. Reliever Jim Grangroth picked up the win. His record improves to 10-5. Ray Maier took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Astros.

The decisive blow was delivered by David Musquiz in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Maier to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.
