Chris Fama earned the win for St. Louis. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 10-14.
With St. Louis leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Brown hit a cutter from Jesus Duran for a 3-run home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 5-1.
St. Louis manager Leyland Thomas commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
