Baize Delivers Walk-Off Win for Astros
|
The Houston Astros scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park. Houston pitcher Nick Mulcahey held his own in the contest. The win was credited to former first round draft pick Jason Valenzuela in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Jaquan Satchell took the loss. The Astros improved their record to 99-58 by beating Oakland.
The decisive blow was delivered by Zack Baize in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jaquan Satchell to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.
"Every loss hurts," said Oakland manager Brett Doane. "But this was a tough one."
