The Seattle Mariners licked the New York Mets, 6-2. Heath Hager deserved a big chunk of the credit. The shortstop was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mariners. With the win, the Mariners have a record of 82-74.

With Seattle trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Hager hit a fastball from Nick Jenkins for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 3-1.

"I loved our energy," said Seattle manager Huckleberry O'Day. "I loved the way we played."
