The Cincinnati Reds beat the Las Vegas Hustle, 5-3. Cincinnati pitcher and Favara, Italy, native Yvain Natta led the way. Cincinnati reliever Tim Snipes was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Alex Casillas took the loss. Corey Comer collected his 35th save.

Cincinnati used a timely hit from Nick Griffin to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reds ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Yvain was dictating to their hitters," said Cincinnati manager BJ Gorman.

The Reds now own a record of 71-85.
