Orioles Take Tight Tangle
|
The Baltimore Orioles faced a tenacious opponent in New York pitcher Ben McKie, but still scratched out a win at Yankee Stadium by a final score of 3-2 in 14 innings. McKie went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Rafael Alejandro earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 6-6. The victory gives Baltimore a record of 85-72.
Baltimore used the hitting of Colin Hanna to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Orioles on top, 3-2. For the game, Hanna had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Hanna told the Baltimore Today.
