Minnesota Beats Kansas City, 3-2

The Minnesota Twins topped the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in American League action at Kauffman Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minnesota pitcher Dean Schuurmans. The Twins improved their record to 88-69 by beating Kansas City.
Scott Wilhelm came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Wilhelm, "but we really needed that win."
