Padres Popped by Nationals, 7-3
|
Jacob Magaw propelled his team to victory over the San Diego Padres. The final score was 7-3, Washington. The win went to Mark Hamm in relief, making him now 5-9. Josh Knapp took the loss for San Diego. Brandon Dobeck locked down his 6th save.
Washington took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Aaron Rego hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Nationals.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Magaw. "Successful pitchers do it."
