Late Heroics Net Reds 7-6 Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets, 7-6, in 13 innings, in part because of right fielder Tom Hedges. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Reds, at 85-73, have now won 7 straight.
The Reds got a clutch hit from shortstop Bobby Rossi. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Reds.
"The crowd was raucous," said Hedges.
