Texas registered a win at O.co Coliseum by beating the Oakland Athletics, 7-3. Pitcher Alex Lopez was one reason why the Rangers triumphed. The winning pitcher was Lopez, now 12-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. With the victory, the Rangers upped their record to 81-76.

Texas used the hitting of Gerbrand Hofman to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rangers on top, 1-0. For the game, Hofman had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Alex's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi.
