Down Goes San Diego, 5-4, to Milwaukee
|
Starting pitcher Mike McKee pitched well enough to help the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres, 5-4. Matthew Gillespie notched his 1st save in 1 chances. With the win, Milwaukee pushed its record to 87-70.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Steve McMenamy? The 27-year old third baseman McMenamy stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I still think this team can play even better," McMenamy told the Milwaukee Observer.
