Athletics Beat Guardians, 6-3
|
Oakland pitcher Mike O'Donovan did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Guardians, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. O'Donovan, now 11-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Jaquan Satchell earned his 4th save in 9 chances.
The Athletics got a big at-bat from third baseman Justin Dunsmore. For the game, Dunsmore went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Oakland a 2-1 lead.
Dunsmore called the win "a team effort."
With the win, the Athletics have a record of 86-72.
