Matt Whitlatch, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a 1.16 WHIP, was terrific for the Chicago Cubs in his team's 9-1 triumph over the Colorado Rockies. His performance earned Whitlatch rave reviews. The losing streak for Colorado has now reached 4 games.

Nankai Hudkins had a big 2-run home run for the Cubs in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 3-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Sam Selby and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Cubs on top, 5-1.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Hudkins told the Chicago Today.
