Cincinnati Hands New York 4-1 Defeat
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the New York Yankees, 4-1, in National League action at Yankee Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Cincinnati pitcher and Sarasota, Florida, native Nick LeBoeuf. The losing streak for New York has now reached 4 games.
Cincinnati used the bat of Jonathan Nelson to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"This was a good win for us," said LeBoeuf. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
