The Texas Rangers dealt the Minnesota Twins a 6-5 loss at Target Field. Chris Patrick was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Victor Luna got credit for the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. Picking up the save was Ryan Zeiher. He's now 8 for 11 in save chances.

Texas used a timely hit from Jason Hartel to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Hartel, "but we really needed that win."

With the win over Minnesota, the Rangers improved to 84-75.
