White Sox Suffer 5-1 Loss to Seattle
|
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Chicago White Sox, 5-1. Doing his part was first baseman John Brownfield, who went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Reliever Trevor Killy picked up the win. His record improves to 14-5. Jim Tant took the loss. The save was credited to Tony Soto, his 17th.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from third baseman Kenny Dahl. For the game, Dahl was 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 7th triple of the season gave Seattle a 2-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Brownfield said.
With the win, the Mariners have a record of 103-56.
