Walker Delivers Walk-Off Win for Braves
|
The Atlanta Braves did just enough to sneak past the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3, at Coca-Cola Field. Atlanta pitcher Andy Bourdeau, in particular, had a standout performance. Danny Lowery earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 11-3. Today's win puts Atlanta at 84-75, while St. Louis falls to 81-78.
Jonathan Walker was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Braves pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Walker said, postgame.
