A 5-RBI performance from Eddie Saldana, who is on pace to hit 34 home runs this season, helped the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 12-5. With the win, Los Angeles has a record of 71-88. Texas falls to 82-77.

Los Angeles left fielder Steve Simon contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Angels ahead, 3-2.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Los Angeles manager Keith Orchard.
