Dodgers Defeat Pirates, 2-1
Los Angeles starter Jesus Valdez pitched well against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 2-1, in 11 innings. Los Angeles reliever Mike DiPalermo snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. John Souza shouldered the loss. The 4th-place Dodgers go to 79-80.

The Dodgers got a clutch hit from first baseman Eric Weter. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dodgers.

"It was terrific getting this win," Weter said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
