New York Downed, 4-3, by Blue Jays
|
Toronto pitcher Andres Sauri had a large part in his team beating the New York Yankees, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Tim Huntress picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ben McKie suffered the loss. With the win, Toronto raised its record to 81-79.
Had Brad Littell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Littell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Blue Jays.
Littell attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
