Orioles Stumble, Lose to White Sox
|
The Chicago White Sox picked up a win at U.S. Cellular Field, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 8-2. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Tim Titolo. He played a key role in the triumph. The first-place White Sox, at 105-55, lead the American League Central Division by 21 games.
Chicago catcher Ben Wetzel contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 122nd hit of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 3-1.
Wetzel attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
