Rockies Run Win Streak to 7
|
Danny Molina did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cincinnati Reds from being beaten, 5-4, to the Colorado Rockies at Great American Ball Park. Molina hit 2 home runs. Ruben Velazquez got the win, improving to 10-6. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Leo Hard earned the save, his 3rd, for the Rockies.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from right fielder Jon Hall. For the game, Hall was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Colorado a 3-1 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Hall told the Colorado Gazette.
The Rockies have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
