Seattle Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Starting pitcher Andy Cote was a major factor in the 3-0 San Francisco Giants triumph over the Seattle Mariners. In 5.1 innings, Cote surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. San Francisco now sits in second place in the National League West Division at 99-61.
David Bishop, who is tied for 10th in the NL in RBI with 103, came through for San Francisco with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 RBI.
"I had a good game plan," said Cote. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Michel Alexandre Cauchon said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
