Slumping Giants Lose 6th Straight
The Washington Nationals overcame a good performance by San Francisco shortstop Matt Roberts to knock off San Francisco, 6-5, at Nationals Park. Roberts went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Washington reliever Dallas Cart picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Jim Doll was saddled with the loss. San Francisco, at 78-83, has lost 6 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Montague in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off fan favorite Jim Doll to win the game for Washington. The home crowd went nuts.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Montague said.
