Baltimore Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
Chicago turned a good effort from starter Ryan Kelly into a win over the Baltimore Orioles at U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox won the game, 5-0. Chicago goes to 106-56. The win puts them 14½ games up in their division.
Jesse Grow had a big 2-run home run for the White Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a splitter from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Enrique Hernandez and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the White Sox on top, 4-0.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Kelly.
