|
Atlanta turned a good performance from starting pitcher Andy Bourdeau into a 4-2 triumph over the New York Mets at Citi Field. In 8 innings, Bourdeau surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Tony Martinez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 42nd save.
Eric Fairweather, who is on pace for 84 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Fairweather contributed a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put Atlanta up, 3-0.
