Hustle Earn 9-8 Win Against Diamondbacks
The Las Vegas Hustle outlasted Alejandro Cruz and the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-8, in 11 innings. Cruz was impressive in the loss. The Arizona second baseman was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Las Vegas reliever Ryan McLellan was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Mark Kerr. Jayson Andrews recorded the save, his 1st.

Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Danny Valdez to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hustle on top, 9-8. For the game, Valdez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Larry Robinson, the Las Vegas skipper.

The Hustle have an impressive 101-61 record.
