BayBears Come Back Late to Top Shuckers, 8-5
Fans of the Mobile BayBears who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Mobile win over the visiting Biloxi Shuckers, 8-5. Dan Couture started for the home team against Ben Penland. Ben Penland earned accolades for his performance. Ismael Linares picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Justin Bollinger suffered the loss. David Nickerson notched his 1st save of the season.

Paul Nealer hit a run-scoring double off Justin Bollinger in the bottom of the eighth, which put the BayBears in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Nealer had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 3.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Nealer, "one at-bat at a time."
