The Biloxi Shuckers racked up a win at MGM Park, bumping off the Jacksonville Suns, 4-2. Meiver Koeppel, who started for Biloxi, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Koeppel, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Jacksonville is now 0-2.

The Shuckers got a big at-bat from center fielder Jose Ruiz. For the game, Ruiz was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Biloxi a 3-2 lead.
