Braves Turn Back Blue Wahoos, 3-1

Mississippi and Pensacola played a hard-fought contest.
The Mississippi Braves took Pensacola pitcher Matt Dickey's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Five County Stadium. The final score had Mississippi getting past the Blue Wahoos, 3-1. Dickey went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. Mississippi reliever Bob Garza was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Matt Dickey. Harry Bakken finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Mississippi used a timely hit from Rich Weston to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Braves ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Mississippi manager Scott Oaks said.
With the win, Mississippi boosts its record to 2-2.
