Montgomery Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Montgomery Biscuits withstood a fine game by Jackson designated hitter Jose Infante at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, to upend the Generals, 5-3. Infante was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner in relief was Hugo Ramirez. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The win puts Montgomery at 3-3.
Chris McKenna had a big 3-run home run for the Biscuits in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Montgomery trailing 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Durnin and swatted a home run to center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 3-1.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Jackson manager Tony Trujillo.
