MGM Park was the site for Southern League action featuring the Biloxi Shuckers and Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Mike Irvine powered the Pensacola Blue Wahoos to a win over the Biloxi Shuckers. The final score was 5-2. The Pensacola second baseman, who is rated as the 88th best prospect by BNN, was phenomenal. He stroked 3 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 2 doubles. Pensacola starter Tom Canaday was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Bennie Hanson got credit for the save for Pensacola. It was his 2nd of the year.

Pensacola took a 5-2 lead on Rich Delgado's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Delgado hit in the top of the ninth, left Biloxi pitcher Andy Kader visibly frustrated.
