The Tennessee Smokies wiggled past the Biloxi Shuckers, 3-2, at Smokies Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Tennessee pitcher Matt Whitlatch. Tennessee reliever Alvaro Reyes was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Josh Bossow. Biloxi now has a record of 7-5.
The Smokies got a clutch hit from second baseman Jaylen Craighead. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Smokies.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Tennessee field general Steve Schwab.
