Barons Make It 4 Straight with 7-1 Win
Tony Ponce De Leon was terrific for the Birmingham Barons in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Mobile BayBears. His performance earned Ponce De Leon rave reviews. The Barons keep rolling, raising their record to 9-5.

Bill Owry, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in runs scored with 11, helped out the Birmingham cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.

"I thought we played a nice game," Owry told the Birmingham Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
