The Montgomery Biscuits topped the Chattanooga Lookouts, 4-3, the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Chris Grindle. On the day, Grindle was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Biscuits. Montgomery reliever Justin Wilson picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jose Fuentes was tagged with the loss. Montgomery now has a record of 8-11.

Washington, District of Columbia native Chris Grindle had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Biscuits. With Montgomery trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.

Grindle called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
