Mississippi Braves starter Bobby Olivares pitched his team past the Tennessee Smokies, 7-2. Olivares, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Mississippi elevates its record to 14-8.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Jon Bushby put Mississippi in front, 1-0, with a run-scoring single. The Braves went on to win the ballgame.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bushby told the Mississippi Daily News.
