Generals Rally to Eke Out Win
Jackson shortstop Clark Strauss contributed significantly to his team's 5-4 win over the Tennessee Smokies. Strauss, who is tied for 2nd in the SL with a .377 batting average, went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Generals. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Gordon in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jeremy Porras took the loss. Tennessee, with the loss, is still a hardy 17-7.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Strauss hit a slider from Jeremy Porras for a run-scoring single. The Generals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Jackson manager Tony Trujillo commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
