The Biloxi Shuckers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mike Ross into a win. Instead, the Tennessee Smokies prevailed, 5-4. Ross threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Jake Johnston collected his 1st save. The win leaves Tennessee with a record of 11-15.

The Smokies got a big at-bat from left fielder Joe Crouch. For the game, Crouch went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Tennessee a 3-1 lead.

"We won," Crouch told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
