Braves Score 9-3 Win Over Suns
The Mississippi Braves topped the Jacksonville Suns, 9-3, in Southern League action at Trustmark Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Mississippi pitcher Mike Phelan. Mississippi reliever Mario Delgado picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Erik Lepore was tagged with the loss. Jacksonville now is 13-15.

Brian Kirby was 1 for 2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Mississippi. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Erik Lepore. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Kirby.
